Zimbra server - multiple domain reponse HELO
We run a community version of the Zimbra server, 8.6.0_GA_1153.FOSS.
There are many domains hosted on the server but only one is in the Servers list.
The problem is that this server responds for all domains so you see it's domain name in the headers.
Received: from mx.domain.net (LHLO mx.domain.net) (192.168.1.63) by
mx.domain.net with LMTP; Mon, 20 Feb 2017 15:46:03 -0700 (MST)
I need to have another domain respond for itself, meaning so that it looks like the mail server is their own domain.
Lets' say the other domain is called mx.2nd-domain.com. I would like the headers to only show the domain that the email is destined for and not the server name.

Can this be done and if so, how?

ASKER
Well, that would be exactly as we have it now then :).
I wondered if the FOSS version could allow for one or more domains to respond to helo.

All my zimbra servers are multiple customer & multiple email domain so for each server deployed I do a few extra steps.
I have registered a generic domain name that does not identify customers or myself. I use something like MIAFLLMAILSRV.NET
I then setup my zimbra server as mail001.MIAFLLMAILSRV.NET as the primary domain
Next I configure the correct DNS records for A-Host record and most important Reverse PTR records.
Once complete I then add customer domains to my hearts content.
When customer sends out email the server HELO will be mail001.MIAFLLMAILSRV.NET : The reverse PTR records will match as well as the SPF check for the customer domain and the mail will go through with minimal fuss.
If you want to test. Setup a free AOL.com and Outlook.com email address and try and send each an email. If they both get the email you are in the clear.
