Dell Wyse 5030 zero client and dell monitors
I have a new Wyse 5030 zero client and a new Dell S2716DGR monitor. The zero client has a DP out and the monitor supports DP in. When connected, I get nothing. The monitor goes to sleep. When I log into the zero client, I see an EDID error reading the monitor.
Also, on the monitor, I can't get the OSD to come up. The instructions clearly say use buttom 3 to get the OSD to load, but it will not. I've tried to power it off and go thru the process on Dell's web site, but no joy on getting the OSD up. I've read I need to adjust the settings in the monitor to get it to work with the zero client.
Anyone seen this or have any suggestions?
Thanks
Cliff

I've connected these to a working PC and cannot get the OSD to launch under any circumstances.
that would imply to me that the monitor is defective

I brought them home and connected them to a PC and they work like a charm. It must be something about the Wyse 5030 not being able to use the high end monitor.
If you can't get a menu with nothing connected but power, then I would contact Dell support.

If you get any menu, then set the input to the port you want to use. And reconnect the DP cable. Make sure its tight on both ends. If you still get no input... Try the easiest of the next steps first
1. If you have another monitor and cable available (prefer a VGA rig) plug it in the WYSE to see if it works. If it does, check the video configuration (number of monitors, resolution, etc.) and that you have the latest video drivers.
2. If you have another DP cable try that.
3. Try the Dell monitor on another system (prefer a PC with a working DP Monitor)
Those steps should either resolve the problem or identify what is at issue.
