DCIM Folder not showing on iPhone 5S

I have connected my iPhone to my Windows 10 computer using a USB cable and on the phone OK'd the window "Trust this computer?". Although the phone is showing as a portable device on my computer,  when I click on the Internal Storage folder it says "This folder is empty"
If I right click on the iPhone icon in Windows Explorer screen and select "Import pictures and videos" it comes up with the wording "No pictures or videos found on this device".
Why isn't the DCIM folder showing - I can view the pictures on my phone so I know they are there.

try this:
go to Iphone settings>general>reset>reset location & Privacy>select reset settings
then unplug the Iphone, plug it back after a few second, select Trust this computer, continue, then unplug the Iphone again , plug it back after a few second. close any open window then go to my computer and retest.
If that didn't work, Replace the Cable with another one and retest.
Have you installed the latest version of iTunes in your Windows PC?

Tried the suggestions by Expert Commentby:Ramin Shehni  - reset Loation & Privacy settings and swapped cables still getting the same result as show above. When I right click on the Sassy iPhone icon and select Import pictures & videos I get this screen shot.User generated image

Agreed.

Make sure you restart the computer after re-install of latest version of iTunes.
If your screen locks on the iPhone, and if it was locked while you plugged it into your computer, then the DCIM folder that typically contains all the pictures on your camera roll will be empty (security). Unlock and plug it back in to USB.

also you can Try your iPhone on another PC, If everything else fails you can try to connect your iPhone to another PC to see if there’s any difference. If the problem persists it means that something is wrong with your iPhone and you might need to contact a professional to fix that. By connecting your iPhone to another PC you can easily diagnose if the problem is related to your computer, driver incompatibility or if it’s something wrong with your iPhone.

Many thanks for all your responses. After a process of elimination (uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes plus making sure the phone was switched on when I plugged it into the computer) I now have access to the DCIM folder!
Glad to know you have solved your problem. Cheers!
