Best way for disk resizing for virtual Exchange 2010 ?
I have a virtual Exchange 2010 on vSphere 5.1 . The C drive needs to be expanded and also the E drive where the database is installed. What is the best way to do it? I understand I need good backups in hand and that no snapshots should exist. Do I need to stop the MS Exchange services while I edit the VM settings? A simple step by step will be appreciated.
Thank you.
Thank you.

assuming the host server is win 2008 or better and there is space on the vm datastores to extend, Daryl's technique will work without downtime.

It worked like a charm. Thank you Daryl.
1) Build new Exchange server and move everything to new server. Safe, easy and no downtime.
2) If C drive is low, move page file to another drive and get extra space for C drive. Example, if you have 12 GB Page file, 2 on C and 10 on another drive.
3) Take backup and then bring down the server and expand the drive and bring the server up. Do the health check.
For 2 and 3 Downtime needed
