asked on

adding alias smtp email address to existing users account does not work - Exchange 2013

User wants to have a blind address, for example:
Johns@company1.com also wants to receive mail from johnsmith@company1.com
We added the additional smtp address but senders get a delivery failure: here is a sample error message

So, I assume you have user in domain with exchange account configures as:

user@ablehealthcare.com and you just add in his account properties on Exchange under email addresses another SMTP address: itjobs@ablehealthcare.com

Now when you're try to send email to itjobs@ablehealthcare.com, server is bouncing back this email right ?

Please make sure you did exactly like I listed.

no. it is an alias to an existing account - see esales and itjob@ablehealthcare.com

I have added both, capture may have cut off second one. You are correct. it is working now. maybe propagation took longer than expected???
