Shared storage with two DL380p with one P2000 G3 including Dual SAS controllers

I have a plan for two DL380p servers with SAS HBAs and a P2000 G3 with 2 SAS controllers with the 4 SAS ports on each controller. Before I finalize the plan, I wanted confirm my understanding of the possible functionality.

I plan to create a VMWare cluster using the P2000 as shared storage. The goal being having an Active-Passive cluster where the primary server fails over to the secondary server if one of the VMs becomes unresponsive.

My real question here is whether I am correct in my thinking that the P2000 is truly shared storage for the VMs of the clustered server. i.e. the same vmdk file is accessible from both DL380s at the same time.

a VMware vSphere HA Cluster - In fact all hosts will be active, but if a host should fail due to an unattended crash, VMs will power p on the remaining host. - is that what you want ?

Yes, well to be technically correct Both Hosts can use Shared Storage and Access both VMFS Datastotres (LUNs) on the P2000 at the same time.

Yes. I am looking for the example you corrected me on in the first section. When a VM becomes unresponsive due to a crash or freeze up, it should spin up a copy on the other host.

Given two hosts with equal specs including RAM. If the vm's are properly supported on one host with CPU and RAM. Can half primarily run on host 1 and the other half on host 2? Can they then be restarted on the other host if something happens on their respective host?

Just make sure you get the SAS host connect controllers and not the drive enclosure I/O modules in the back, it's obvious from the price as the SAS host connect model P2000 G3 costs about the same as the iSCSI moel whereas the expansion moule is half the price as there's no RAID controllers in it, just dumb I/O cards.
I'm getting the AW592A controllers. Are they the right ones?
