Is Dropbox the only way to upload large files?

Hi

I've asked several dropbox questions.
But, not if dropbox is the only way to do large file upload and download (MRI image files (needs size of CD)
Is there a way to send it to my web-space, a directory, to wait there until needed?

Thanks

Does eFolder have an SDK for access from web-start? or PHP or javascript?
Is it a subscription?
That would be ideal if it isn't. I just want a drop window/destination-pic that sends big files to a destination person.
My clients are doctors who want to share MRI uploads easily between each other , with no passwords, just drag-dropping into a destination box at a URL. They like my idea of having pics of the doctors at a page, and dropping the MRI onto the destination doctor.
Are passwords unavoidable? Cant the PHP sneak them in?
Ideas?

Thanks

eFolder is used by IT providers mostly.  Here is the link if you have not visited it yet.

The people there are great and selling this solution to your clients is very rewarding as well.  They would love it.  You can have them visit a online portal to use this or you can have it setup so that it opens up in windows explorer as a folder.  If they access it via Windows Explorer, they will not have to enter a password each time.  If through the online portal, they would need to log in.
