OneNote cannot connect to OneDrive

I have this older XP machine with Microsoft OneNote 2010, and a notebook synchronized with OneDrive.

It worked fine for years, but since a week or two ago if I go to File > Open in OneNote I get "Unable to connect to Microsoft OneDrive".

The notebook's sync info gives error 0x80072EFF which means cannot connect. However I can open the notebook on OneDrive in the browser no problem. I tried closing the notebook and go to OneDrive to "edit in OneNote", but it works only to the point where OneNote opens and gives error "cannot open the specified location".

Googling for the issue I suspect OneDrive may not support anymore TLS 1.0 which is the only one I see in my Internet Options... but maybe experts you know what to do about it, thanks.

Can you try this on a more modern machine.  XP has not had an updates for over a year now while Windows 7 and above have had updates and indeed so also has Office 2010.

It is likely an update issue that XP could not participate in.

try a system restore to that date - or look what updates have been installed for it
@campinam - Thanks, XP is very old now and can no longer keep up.
