Site replication storage recommendations.
I currently have a colo site running quite a few vm's in a four host cluster off two 32Tb sans. I have. 24 tb SAN in the same rack for back ups using vsphere data protection.
Looking for a few recommendations on off site storage to replicate to using vsphere site recovery manager. Not really looking for a cloud based draas right now.
Would a regular dell equal logic or similar work for this. What are your examples or scenarios you are using.

Andrew,
Thanks for the feedback. Can the replication of SAN's be done even when their is no site-to-site VPN between the two locations.
Thanks

if there is no link between sites, how would the SANs communicate between each other ?

that is my question. the two sites will not have a site to site vpn. is there any way to configure the equalogic replication from WAN IP to WAN ip with no VPN.
are the sites connected - no ? no connection between sites ?
so both sites are standalone and not connected ?
NO IP CONNECTIVITY BETWEEN SITE A and SITE B ?
if the SANs cannot communicate, you cannot replicate.

The sites have normal ISP connectivity to them but they are not vpn to vpn.

Thanks for the reply. I dont think i really need complete san replication. I'll look into your recommendations
If you want to tie in with SRM you can also do that. But SRM is Recovery Manager, work on VM objects, like VMware Replication.
You can replicate between storage using SAN functions provided the SANs are the same vendor.
