Network setup for 8 X Cisco Edge Switch 2960 and Cisco C6880-X-LE

Hi,

Just wanted to get a second opinion on the setup and some advice in setting and testing a 6880 core and 2960 edge switches connected via fibre connections.

I have uploaded the proposed config that will be used. The main things i need to get working and tested are:

Network connectivity between all devices through fibre
Vlans
SNMP
NTP - maybe from external server for testing first
Spanning Tree - core as root

Cheers

Thanks for the advice, i have made changes as suggested.

The management is for ap management and the other is for switch management.

Do i need to set a ip address and default route for the other vlans for the 2960s so that the other vlans can route between?

No, only one default route on the 2960s - they will switch traffic according to the VLAN the packet comes in on - if packet has to go to a different VLAN, switch will send it to router, which will determine outgoing VLAN and send it that way..

Config looks okay now I think - just remember to put the ip default-gateway for vlan 990 on your 2960s

Also, 2960 switches normally don't use the switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q command - only switchport mode trunk - but they will tell you if that is the case..
Have loaded an updated config with the changes.

Have also added a ip default-gateway on 2960 pointing to the management IP, will that work?

Thanks again

You shouldn't put the default gateway under the interface vlans - only in default config - and then it looks right from here
Thankyou, will be testing this config next two days.
Thankyou for your help much appreciated. Will be testing this over the next few days, will let you know how i go.
