Problems with replacment of Cisco 4510
Replacing a Cisco 4507 with Cisco 4510
4507 - IOS 12.2
4510 - IOS 15.2
While making the transition we created a trunk port between the two switches and created the vlans on the new switch (4510). The 4507 was still the primary switch connecting to the outside world. Once all of the ports in the new switch (4510) were changed we shut off the 4507, placed the uplink into the 4510 and added the ip addresses to each of the vlans in the 4510.
EXAMPLE:
vlan 1 : 10.10.10.1 255.255.255.0
vlan 2 : 192.168.1.1 255.255.255.128
vlan 3 : 172.16.10.1 255.255.255.128
vlan 4 : 182.20.100.1 255.255.255.0
ISSUE:
Once the change was made we can ping and access all of the vlan interfaces on the switch. We can ping and access anything on the vlan 1 subnet. We CANNOT ping or access anything on the vlan 2, 3, or 4 subnet even though we can ping and access the vlan switch ip address of those vlans.
The only ip route we have is the original 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 x.x.x.x which is the same ip route that was on the 4507. All other configurations were copied and pasted into the new (4510) switch.
