HOW TO: Shrink a VMware Virtual Machine Disk (VMDK) in 15 minutes

Hi,

In regards to this article. How do I enter vi mode and edit the descriptor file, the method I've tried says "VI out of memory" so I'm obviously doing it wrong.

What is the command?

Thanks,

This is perfect, this application has made my life 100x easier!

Many thanks!
Yes, if you are not familiar with vi, better off with Winscp. Don't forget to select a solution, and close the question.
One other question, would this mean I need to download the whole flat-vmdk file?
no, you just need to edit the descriptor. (which is a small text file)
Perfect, thank you very much!
