Convert SuperCalc files to Excel
I have old spreadsheet files, generated by the SuperCalc programme. They will not auto open via Excel. Is there a known method of converting them e.g. using csv, etc. so that I can access the data?

Apparently you can indeed save as Lotus .wk1 file and import that in OpenOffice or LibreOffice. Big question: do you still have SuperCalc? It can be downloaded, but then you're in for a very bumpy ride: you apparently need eight 5.25" disks and install it under DOS. Maybe, just maybe, you can use a virtual WIN98SE2 system, with virtual mountable disks. And even then you're not there, for SC seems to have checks on disk sectors, to make sure you used a legit install... Thanks to all for your comments and advice. It was a long-shot anyway, as the SuperCalc process dates back to the '90s.
I appreciate you all taking time to respond

Take a look at this article, it should help you with the question close process.
For future reference here some other items related to closing questions in case they are helpful.
And don't forget you can always "request attention" on a question if you are not sure how to proceed and a support person will be in touch to help you out.

Thanks for the feedback and advice. I haven't managed to find a suitable transfer option for the .cal files, altho' I have found old printouts, which I can hand input to Excel. Not ideal, but at least I have the printed data.
Cheers to all.
Cheers to all.
