We have a Windows 2008 R2 server running IIS in the DMZ. The server works very well inside of our network on wired and wireless devices. When accessing the site via the public internet the pages load, but the pages timeout when users submit data and are waiting for the query response. The DMZ connection to the public internet has gone through some temporary changes requiring extra hops. This temporary change will be in place for 3 months. <br />

There is full connectivity, all ports are opened, all IPS devices removed, and bandwidth is available at 50Mb/s for a small webapp that literally is sending a small amount of information (name, address, and phone number), and latency is at 10m/s from a public device to the web server.<br />

The vendor who made the app wasn't of much help.<br />

Is there a way to determine in IIS why a site is timing out? Is there a way to best determine the MTUs the connection should be set to? <br />

Troubleshooting Latency Timeout on IIS 2008 R2 Server

IIS is Internet Information Services, the web server included with Windows Server operating systems. All current versions are built on a modular architecture; modules can be added or removed individually so that those required for specific functionality are installed. The full installation of IIS includes HTTP, security, content, compression, caching, logging and diagnostics.
