You receive a "The User Profile Service failed the logon” error message
Windows 7 home edition upgraded to Windows 10 Pro, joined to the domain, and got the "user profile service failed the logon". I tried the microsoft solution but there was no profile generated for me to delete.

No joke I had this issue this morning. To fix it for me I unplugged the Ethernet cable from the back of the computer and replugged it in. Then rebooted. Worked like a charm.
That means you have an intermittent connection issue somewhere. I think that might have shown up when you powered off and then powered on as suggested above.
Is it just one account that gets the message, or anyone who tries to login? Can you login as domain admin?

Ethernet did not work. Domain admin worked initially but then it got the message too. I downloaded the 10 ISO to the computer but left for the day. I return Wednesday.
Ethernet did not work
Run TCP/IP Reset
Open cmd.exe with Run as Administrator
Then netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt
Also, ipconfig /flushdns followed by net stop dnscache followed by net start dnscache
Then restart the computer

It seems that would be an appropriate solution had it not been able to join the domain minutes earlier. I will try all suggestions come Wednesday.

The Windows10 iso setup ran with updates and took half the day. I ended up leaving. I will check this out again next week.

The mounting if the 10 ISO and re-running of setup did the trick. We joined the domain again and were able setup profiles this time around. This re-running of 10 setup seems to be a recurring resolution for Windows 10 Pro funkiness.
