SBS 2011 Need to move SharePoint Foundation datab ases
The console move SP Foundation Data is not working: says SP modified and cannot move, but I do want to move the data to another drive. I have stumbled across a handful of articles about moving to another server, but nothing particular enough about moving from one drive to another drive.
On the existing SP data drive, I see \Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSG10_50.SHAREPOINT \MSSQL\DAT A that contains a handful of .mdf files. Is it as simple as stopping services, copying the folder path to another drive and then restarting? Naw, I didn't think so. I would assume SQL server has to be involved and may a reg setting or two.
Here's how you can help me:
1. What services have to be stopped?
2. What files have to be copied?
3. What SQL actions have to be performed?
4. Any reg settings need changing?
5. Any IIS settings need changing?
Thanks in advance.
