CLI command keep running after close

I want to run a MySQL CLI command but not have to keep my console window open - will it keep running (gonna take several hours) or do I need to do something so it's not checking for a 'connection'

This is remote but I'm working on Centos and that seems Ubuntu specific
It's not.  Screen is available for different distributions.  You should be able to run
yum install screen
Ok, but I am opening an SSH from Windows - after a quick read it looks like I can run this inside a Putty terminal window or am I wrong?
Yes, you can run it there because screen runs on the remote system.  If you get disconnected, you just reconnect and run screen -r to reattach to the previous screen session.
