Why Do Some Users See a Black Screen After Logging Into Newly Created Network User Accounts on Windows 7

From time to time when new users at my company receive their initial user ID and password from our IT department they try to log onto the network and imediately after entering their user ID and password receive a black screen. This happens regardless of which workstation they try to log into. Our network uses Windows 7 with roaming profiles. Could our administrator possibly be forgetting something when he initially creates the new user account?

If these are imaged machines, I would take a look at the default profile as specified in the image to ensure that it is not setting or using any incompatible display settings.

Thank you both for the comments. Since other users were able to access the workstations in question without any display issues (i.e. black screen) I don't think it was the image. I will be sure to follow up with the tech to see if the advice in the previously posted article made a difference. Thank you again.
