SQL Activity Monitor detail

I'm investigating some performance issues that seem to be happening at around the same time every day. What I'd like to do is capture the activity detail (similar to what I see in SQL Activity Monitor) for a period of time . Is this something easily done or is there something better to run to capture SQL activity?

Thanks
