yes its a local vmware account, setup during installation of vcenter server. to change the password you will need to login to web client as SSO admin <br />

To change the password for the Administrator:<br />
Log into the vSphere Web Client with an SSO administrator user<br />
Click Administration.<br />
Click Users and Groups under Single Sign-On.<br />
Right-click Administrator under the Users tab.<br />
Click Edit User.<br />
Change the password for the Administrator.
