I have a HP Elitebook 840 G1 running Windows 10 Enterprise with a inbuilt HP lt4112 Gobi 4G module. The actual module runs perfectly fine and if the machine is switched on from a cold boot, it shows in the network connections list and connects in seconds and works 100% fine.
Now, if the machine goes to sleep or hibernation (i.e. lid closed), upon wake, all references to cellular/WWAN are not present anymore anywhere in the OS. The actual hardware is present in device manager and functioning fine, however there is no reference to a cellular/WWAN connection in the network connections list. The only way to restore it is to restart the machine, at which point it will come back and continue to work, until the lid is closed and then it happens all over again.
Does anyone else have this issue? I'm running the latest drivers from the HP website, including BIOS. The cellular card is a genuine HP item suited for this notebook.
Thanks!
ASKER
Tried all the latest drivers however the versions I've tried today are the same as what I've tried a few months ago when this issue first arose.
Interestingly, despite having the lt4112 drivers installed, the driver provider for the device is still listed as Microsoft and the driver looks to be a 'generic mobile broadband adapter'. I'm blocked by device manager if I attempt to force the HP driver to be used (ewgnss.inf within the Win10X64 directory of SP76944).
