Our organization is transitioning to Office 365 from an on-premise Exchange Server. Our industry requires that we have a copy of all mail for one year. We currently using an archiving appliance to retain all messages and then purge them after a year. Our appliance is not compatible with Office 365. Archiving is a considerable amount extra for E1 and Exchange Online users. We have never used inPlace eDiscover and Hold because we haven't had licensing for that, but I'm wondering if that would serve our purposes? Or...is there something else in Exchange Online that would allow us to pull all email from the past year without paying for archiving?
