I have a user that when she opens a word doc she's getting the following error:  There was a problem sending the command to the program. I can't seem to find any information that relates to word 2010 can someone help me out?

Is this when she is opening a particular word document or any document?

What if the document is opened on another computer?

It's possible the document is corrupted.  If so, is there an earlier version to open?

I have a different version of word but it opens for me.  Any word doc the user opens returns this error.

Try either doing a repair install or remove and reinstall Office.

It sounds like the installation has become corrupted.

In addition to the above, make a new, test Windows User Profile (Account). Log into the new Windows Account and test Office (any component) in the new Account.

Office Repair may fix the problem.  Here is a screen shot:

Can documents be opened from application directly, if so it is a problem with the registered file entries in Registry.
Either way a repair is recommended.

if it was working fine before - a system restore to such date helps you out quickly

ry running a Detect and Repair (if not already attempted). To run the Detect and Repair do the following:
Start an Office program.
On the Help menu, click Detect and Repair.
