date show only hh:mm

hi experts
i have this value in the database:
10/03/2017 02:25:45 a.m. the column type is date

I need only show hh:mm for example
--1
09/03/2017 09:14:50 p.m.
show: 21:14

--2
10/03/2017 02:25:45 a.m.
show: 02:25

I believe this goes along with your other question.  What displays is a function of NLS_DATE_FORMAT and the TO_CHAR function.  If you do not supply a format to TO_CHAR it defaults to NLS_DATE_FORMAT.

TO_CHAR(col, 'hh24:mi')
This is the best money I have ever spent. I cannot not tell you how many times these folks have saved my bacon. I learn so much from the contributors.
