How to monitor servers ?

Hello

I have a farm with 10 servers each one doing specific things
exchange server
domain controller
sql server
application server
etc..
they are all Hyper-v VMs

I would like a kind of advanced script of powershell that can run some routine check (error logs warning low space server down connectivity issues etc
and report back by email.
I would also like if it possible to get an email each time an error is logged in the windows log so that I can know what to do ...

my problem is that I dont have the budget to purchase a third party tool...

thanks

I don't know if there is such a collection of scripts but since you don't have the budget i would suggest to start collecting them...just write down your needs and search for each case the appropriate script...meanwhile grab a book about a PowerShell and try to merge the scripts to one complete solution
Hi

I know you said no budget but a tool like servers alive would cost you $199 if you would like to run more then 10 checks.
Up till 10 is free.
Check it via this link

Also Zabbix if totally free but requires Some Linux skills.
