SSMS Opening Mode
Each time I open SSMS I have to do a SHIFT+ALT+ENTER... twice
Then the console window looks normal.
What do I need to do to get that to stop?

Vitor,
Well...
Other than closing all queries and then closing I don't know what other way there is to close it.

You can shut down the computer without closing SSMS window or closing it by terminating the process in the Windows Task Manager or even the SSMS being closed by throwing an error.
When I said "properly" it means you perform a manual and clean closure procedure :)

Vitor... OK. That is what I am doing
Another option is you're using 2 monitors and for some reason it's opening in the wrong monitor so you'll need to resize the window every time you open SSMS.
Or then it might be a bug. Which version of SSMS do you have? And it has the latest hotfixes applied?

I would go with Vitor's theory of 2 monitors somehow messing up the layout.
You can reset the layout from the Windoes menu (note that doing so will remove all customizations). That would be a good way to start afresh in case SSMS has "remembered" a one-off setting.

Thanks
Are you closing SSMS properly? If so it should restore the last screen size and position when you reopen it.
