Problem with Brother colour printer MFC-9340CDW

This printer will no longer generate a .pdf file from a file scan.

It is connected to a W10 fully updated computer.

It does print documents generated on the W10 computer to which it is connected by WiFi Direct

I'm unable to understand the Brother Canadian website and the methods it suggests.

Experts, please, your suggestions for finding a solution.

I'm trying to scan from the MFC's control panel.  This worked fine until recently,

I'll now try the update you suggest and report back.

Just now I used the link you sent me.

It installed the software without any signs of problems.

Then I tested it and it works!
