Upgrade of Microsoft Exchange 2013 to CU15 implication on lync 2013

We will be upgrading exchange 2013 in our organisation to CU15.
I would like to determine if any of the integration between lync 2013 and exchange will be affected by this upgrade.
I have read that OWA integration of lync might need to reset after the change via the backup of web.config file.
But we do not use OWA in the organisation.
Is there anything else I need to check from Lync perspective before going ahead with CU install.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Would you look at integration Exchange for compliance archiving as addtional

Until you haven't done any customization related to OWA. As any CU update will be replacing customized folders. Better to keep one copy of BIN folder safe. That's what, I do every time. This saved me several times from issue, I faced after upgrades. Follow this:

1.Test the CU upgrade in your test environment. Note the errors and resolutions.
2. Test with test users for a week. Especially, user accessing via phone or externally.
3. Make sure to take Exchange DB/logs and bin folder backup.
4. Disable antivirus before running the setup.
5. Make sure to use account with Org, Schema and Enterprise admin rights.
6. Upgrade Schema in advance.
7. After the CU update restart the server and do full health check. Like checking all services are running, no errors in logs. Login with all possible method to your mailbox.
8. Finally, if any issue, post it on EE. We are here to help you.
