No. For these machines, use ONE partition and all is well. I do not partition hard drives any more. No real need.
Edward Pamias

As John said one partition is fine. At IBM our Lenovo's have one partition. We have no issues here.
John

And with Windows 10 you can Repair Install in place with no issues
This is the best money I have ever spent. I cannot not tell you how many times these folks have saved my bacon. I learn so much from the contributors.

It does not say who refurbished it. (?)
No warranty seen.
Only to be used for travel and no travel dates in site.
John

Ask Walmart about warranty and also look at the Lenovo site.

If they give you a warranty then it is a good laptop.
John

"This laptop was refurbished by US Micro"   Probably OK, as far as I know they are a certified Lenovo dealer.

"his allows us to stand behind our products with a 1 year limited warranty (see warranty section for complete details) and a 30 day money back guarantee"   So it is guaranteed

" free 30 day trial of Microsoft Office 365 (Office 2016)"   This may be worth your while for Windows 10.

So it continues to look decent.

Thanks and good luck if you need a newer machine.
I started with Experts Exchange in 2004 and it's been a mainstay of my professional computing life since. It helped me launch a career as a programmer / Oracle data analyst

Well.................would you even consider to spend $149 to get a new motherboard (for my existing laptop 8891) that has a newer Nvidia chip.
The refurbished is only $76 more.......with Intel graphics.
John

If the board is compatible and will work, I would consider it. I paid that much to put new hinges in that very machine.

ASKER
It is compatible and sold by Lenovo.
Knowing that I will need high graphics and ram (the 8 is plenty) for the program I'll be using on it.
I'll have to open it up and see if I can change it out myself.

There is a hardware maintenance manual for that machine. I have opened it and replaced / added memory and the wireless NIC.

If you work carefully it comes apart ok.
