hi guys

We have an issue with our server. It's an HP Proliant DL 380 Generation 8 server. The ethernet link keeps going down and so does the ILO. I want to update the firmware. There's nothing on the server itself. OS is Windows 2012 R2.

What do you download in order for the firmware to get updated? Is it the HP smart update manager?

Thanks
Yash

HP SUM is the best option but it's a restricted download because it covers BIOS as well and HPE won't let you have BIOS without a support contract. The individual NIC formware is at http://h20564.www2.hpe.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?sp4ts.oid=5317159&swItemId=MTX_9cb85937af1540a79337ee40c8&swEnvOid=4168 assuming you have the 4x1Gb 366i flexLOM.

Amazing, thank you sir.

We do have a support contract from what I recall, but either way this will help massively.

Does this also help with the ILO do you think?

iLO is a completely separate device, firmware is at http://h20565.www2.hpe.com/hpsc/swd/public/readIndex?sp4ts.oid=5194969&swLangOid=8&swEnvOid=4168 under Lights-out management. Note firmware and driver must match so if you update iLO to latest then update iLO driver to latest too.
