EIGRP Bandwidth

I have read about EIGRP, but I cannot understand how Bandwidth is used. in some articles , they say:
"By default, EIGRP is set to use only up to 50 percent of the bandwidth"

I am not sure what this means ? if I have gigabyte link then , if the router uses EIGRP, then only 50% will be used?

Any clarification on this ?

Thanks

This is a limit on how much of the link EIGRP will use.  If you allow EIGRP to consume all of the bandwidth you could saturate your link so other traffic won't be able to pass.

The link will pass traffic at 1Gbps, but EIGRP will only use 500Mbps for EIGRP traffic.

so that's automatic. EIGRP will use 50% of the available bandwidth .
We do not have to configure anything to make it use 50%
No, it uses 50% maximum.
