Windows 10 Pro

This was a working environment for months.  This month I have not been able to update my Windows 10 Pro
I have this tool that tell me I have updates to apply. Windows Update Notifier. Gives you the icon similar to Windows 7
Click on menu pops up then you click on Windows-Update Control-Panel
It then display the updates now it is not it continues to show Checking for updates then it gives this message

There were some problems installing updates, but we'll try again later. If you keep seeing this and want to search the web or contact support for information, this may help: (0x800705b4)

Other times it just says "your device is up to date last checked 3/7/2017 8:29 AM

That date is wrong

I have solarwinds diagnostic tools for windows server update service

It shows my Windows update agent version is old 6.2.10586.672         HOW DO I UPDATE THIS????

Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool
Version: 10.0.10586.0

Image Version: 10.0.10586.0

[==========================100.0%==========================]

Ran the upgrade now the updates download.

The Update status show Downloading updates 100%

I do not see an install button like before

I see this

Update Settings

available updates will be downloaded and installed automatically, except over metered connections (where charges may apply).

Still waiting for the updates to install

What am I missing here?

Thomas, slowly. You did successfully upgrade to the latest major windows version using the media creation tool? Fine.
Now you check for updates and you think you are missing something because they don't install in seconds/minutes/hours?

Yes I ran the latestwu tool which I downloaded from your link

It only came up with this suggestion
One troubleshooting step to resolve WU issues is to delete and re-download updates to your computer would you like to try this now?
Then you click on Apply this fix

Problems found

Some security settings are missing or have been changed       fixed
Service registration is missing or corrupt                                     fixed
Potential Windows Update database error detected                 fixed
Windows Update components must be repaired                       fixed

Now I get this

There were some problems installing updates, but we'll try again later. If you keep seeing this and want to search the web or contact support for information, this may help: (0x80244010)

Yes I installed the Windows 10 upgrade using your link

Guys I ran the solarwinds tools again and it still is reporting that the Windows update agent version is 6.2.14393.0   WU Agent update is required.

Could this be the problem?  How do we upgrade this?

To work with WSUS, you need to install a patch to your new windows version - sounds silly, I know, but you need to do it manually. Afterwards, it will work with WSUS. "There were some problems installing updates" - please verify if that patch got installed or rolled back after a failed installation. If it installed, please tell me, what update failed to install.

The patch installed cleanly no errors

Now Update status shows downloading updates 80%

This happened before it was downloaded but ever installed

Still need to know how to update the update client from 6.2

Don't let solarwinds fool you. I guess it's not correctly detected. Your update client is the latest with that version you have.
Look around a  little - what patches does it try to download? There won't be an error code if it is still at 80% downloading, so what is it doing now?

I advise you to download and try the trial of wuinstall: which will tell you what is going on. https://wuinstall.com/
