asked on

windows server 2012 R2 DHCP clustering ?

Hi people,

I'd like to consolidate multiple DHCP server in all of my site office into the two Data Centre Windows server 2012 R2 running DHCP server resilience (cluster).

What would be the steps and procedure to do it ?
I know that each VLAN and switch must be configured with DHCP helper first, but not sure if I should migrate all existing DHCP database from multiple server first or setup the clustering first ?

Thanks.

ok, so in this case, do I setup the DHCP Failover first on both new WIn2012R2 server and then migrate the DHCP database and scope manually one by one ?

Or the other way around ? set i t up first in one of the WIn2012R2 server as standalone server, then do failover ?

My understanding is that the server is running Active/Passive just like Microsoft Clustering.

Ok,

So in this case I will migrate the DHCP database first and then configure the failover later on.

Does the DHCP server then running as Active Passive for all the subnets ?
