Win 7 to Win 10
New DELL that came with Win 7 and a WIN 10 DVD. I've changed BIOS to UEFI, I don't see he option for 'boot priority - Keep HD first boot', however if I do an F12 it's listed first.
I booted into UEFI DVD option manually, went through options for keyboard, language, etc. Then troubleshoot > recover from a drive.
I'm getting 'unable to reset PC the system drive could not be found' I get this when using the rest option. Any suggestions?

If you can enter BIOS load defaults (or optimized defaults whatever they call them) and you should be able to boot properly...
After that find the hot key the boot menu (F2 or F12) and select your DVD...

Diskpart is the command line. You an type "help" in there to see the individual options. The clear disk is pretty apparent, but don't have a computer handy to check myself off hand.
what happens if you change it back to BIOS?

Because I'm trying to install Win 10 - Legacy Bios won't let you do that. You have to enable UEFI, when that is enabled because there is no option for maintaining HD as the primary boot device. Currently is I boot with UEFI enable and don't user F11 it goes into DELL diagnostics.
>> Legacy Bios won't let you do that << uh ?? do i hear you right?
i have had several - 5+6 like that - i don't see why that should be a hindrance
Did you actuamlly try to install W10 like that? - should work
in case it helps, here's how : https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/1950-clean-install-windows-10-a.html
if you have problems - imo it can come from a bios restriction from DEll, but that's about all
what does Dell say about it ?

note: a UEFI boot will only install go a gpt partition a mbr boot will only install to a mbr partition. Your disk is probably MBR if under 2TB in size
