Big Business Goals? Which KPIs Will Help You

The most successful MSPs rely on metrics – known as key performance indicators (KPIs) – for making informed decisions that help their businesses thrive, rather than just survive. This eBook provides an overview of the most important KPIs used by top MSPs.

let me give you a little context:   vwarpasvctx02 and vwarpasvctx01 are both  the active/inactive part of the server cluster: VWARPASVCTXFC.

i just need to backup:

 G:\Backup Citrix\CitrixCitrix_VWLogging"
 G:\Backup Citrix\CitrixCitrix_VWMonitoring"
 G:\Backup Citrix\CitrixCitrix_VWSite"

No matter if the active database is on ctx01 or ctx02.

Seems you're using the wrong dsm.opt file. The error message still says CLUSTERDISKONLY but the file you posted correctly has CLUSTERDISKSONLY.

wool,
           i have 3 servers :

 VWARPASVCTXFC: the cluster
 VWARPASVCTX01: cluster pasive DB
 VWARPASVCTX02:  cluster active DB

should i use the same nodename on each .opt   pointing to the cluster (VWARPASVCTXFC)?  or each .opt should have its own name?

im restarting the services  right now.

woolmilkporcCommented:
You must have one nodename for the cluster and one for each of the participating machines, so your config looks good. Of course you must have a specific opt file for each of the clients, you must run an own scheduler service for each of them, and you must specify the correct file at each scheduler service startup.

Since teaching the correct setup of a cluster backup is a bit too extensive for an EE thread I'd advise you to read (and understand) this rather good article about that topic:
https://publib.boulder.ibm.com/tividd/td/TSMC/GC32-0788-01/en_US/HTML/ans6000021.htm

Good reading, have fun!

Seems you read that article, but you didn't follow the instructions given there.

A local node (one without CLUSTERNODE YES) can never back up a cluster resource.
Thus the messages on vwarpasvctx02 and on VWARPASVCTXFC regarding \\vwarpasvctxfc\d$\*.
Do not specify a cluster resource in DOMAIN of a non-cluster node. If you use DOMAIN ALL-LOCAL exclude the cluster resources on non-cluster nodes, like " DOMAIN ALL-LOCAL -d:" or "DOMAIN ALL_LOCAL -\\vwarpasvctxfc\d$" or so  (I'm not a Windows admin, sorry!) Mind the minus sign!
I think VWARPASVCTXFC is designed to be the cluster node? Here you should specify "CLUSTERNODE YES" and "DOMAIN d:" or "DOMAIN \\vwarpasvctxfc\d$" or the like (Again, I'm not a Windows admin!) Note the absence of the minus sign in this case!
Take good care to have a distinct opt file for each node, and make sure to specify the correct opt file at  the nodes' scheduler service startup.

Further, VWARPASVCTX01 cannot reach the server, probably due to some network issues (firewall/router etc., or interface down?)

By the way, a cluster node (one with CLUSTERNODE YES) can back up cluster resources as well as local resources when CLUSTERDISKSONLY NO is specified in the opt file.
