I'm about to deploy additional Exchange Server 2013 Standard Mailbox server that will be running IP-less DAG.
what is the recommended CPU best practice for VMware VM deployment ?
8 Sockets 1 Cores
2 Sockets 4 Cores
4 Sockets 2 Cores
1 Sockets 8 Cores
The Operating System will be running on Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard Edition.
Which one is better for the Exchange server VM and what are the caveats or pitfall that I need to be aware of.

First off, what is the physical hardware you will be running on? When you say vmware are you referring to the esxi type 1 hypervisor or vmware workstation type 2 hypervisor?

Cores Per Socket: 6
Logical processor: 24
