Data Centre cum Server room

what is the best way to isolate the power issue in the server room . we had a  downtime due to one phase trip has went off due to unknown issue . we have two UPS and getting the power to the server room  , but at the end it seems be the same power source . when the trip  went off entire data center out of service  . is there any way we can get the alarm in case off one phase went off or UPS issue ?

please share the best wary to design our new server room (data center)

Hi

Assuming you have two seperate powerrails and all devices have redundant power.
With snmp traps a server can inform you one power rail is failing.

If you think you have two seperated powerrails and they both died on one occasion i would contact the DC and demand an explanation because if they are not seperated you pay to much and get false security info.

Standard is typically one feed is city power and the other is on a building UPS. If the budget allows and the critically exist then UPS exist in the rack too.
No way!! Both rails are so called city power in modern DCs.
Both rails are battery supported and both battery rails are diesel engine backed.
The UPS should have alarmed you both by audible alarm and SNMP trap or email unless it's a very cheap one.

Getting a second phase run into your computer room won't increase uptime much as normally all three phases go out at once, getting a second feed into the building won't do much either because they'll probably both be fed from the same substation.

This isn't a DC, it's a server room.

I aasume we are talking server room in a dc.
Wouldn't say "Data Centre  cum Server room" if it was in a co-lo or hosting centre, cum implies it's part way between being a server room and a [private] DC.
