If you use a PC as a printserver, then the drivers for multiple Windows versions can be loaded onto that, and installed on other PCs from there.

For a Mac, as far as I know the drivers need to be installed on each Mac. OS/X comes with a very large range of drivers, so for most printers there will be no problem. If the printer does not show up in the support list in Printers and Faxes, you may be able to get it through Apple Software Update. If you can download the driver separately, you could save the driver files in a folder on the server, so you can download them from there.

For PostScript printers all you need is the PPD file, which should be installed in /Library/Printers/PPDs/Contents/Resources. PPD files are text files, so you can get it from a Windows installation and use it on the Mac if necessary. While installing, just point OS/X at the location of the PPD if it does not find it automatically.
