"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You will have to take it to an Apple Store, prove identity and see if they can reset it to factory specs.

Currently Apple needs our apple id to do a normal reset (had that done for repair purposes).

I agree with John.  With the information you provided about your situation, taking it to the Apple store is most likely you're only option.

I wrote an article that talks about things you can try and how to take preventative measures to avoid situations like these.

Let me know if you have any follow up questions.
