Intermec PC43d label printer that prints to file folder goes offline after reboot. MS Access VBA Application.
I have an MS Access application that prints to file and then sends the file to the IP address of the Intermec PC43d label printer that the user chooses. On the user's computer the printer is installed and the port set to a folder on the C drive.
The problem is that after the machine is rebooted the printer that prints to file goes offline. However, if I uninstall and then reinstall the printer everything works as it should. Until I have to restart the computer, of course.
I've done a lot of searching on how to fix this but have come up empty handed. I'm hoping that a few of you folks here who are far more intelligent than me might be able to help out or at least throw out a few theories I can chase down. :)
My app does use a SetDefaultPrinter routine to change the default printer to the Intermec printer and then changes it back to the original default printer that the user had set.
This application will run on Windows 7 and Windows 10 computers. Mostly Windows 10.
Thank you in advance and have a good day!

Looks as if I misread the question and talked (through my hat) about the wrong printer :-(

Hi guys, sorry for not getting back to you all sooner, I had a bit of a server emergency yesterday I had to deal with.
As it turns out the printer has to have the 'Use Printer Offline' option UNCHECKED. It's amazing how something so minor and simple can frustrate you for days.
I do appreciate all of you taking the time to help me out. I've distributed the points as best I could.
Thanks again!

Glad you found the problem. Cheers!
