Is there a way to get a ring tone onto iphone easily without itunes

I have a sound bite (< 30 seconds) that I want to send to my wife for her to use as a ring tone on her iphone.  We don't ever sync to itunes.

I have it as an mp3.  I used itunes on my win pc to make an .m4a of it.  I renamed it to .m4r.  Now i have 3 versions of the same sound bite.

Now what? I can email mail the .m4r or other file to her. (I have an iphone so I can test the process myself)

Love for it to be easy to do / no apps needed.. the harder / more steps, the less she'll want to deal with this : )

are there ios apps for this?

There should be plenty of 3rd party apps that can do it. Just go to the app store and type ringtones.

Thanks I did the same and some talk about making ringtones. I already have a file it's an M4R so he's all set to go I just need to get into the right location. I started looking at FileManager's. That may work but I was hoping to get a solution it says if you have an M4 or do this or that and it just moves it to the right location

i downlaoded an app called file manager.  went to try to move the file (saved from email or in dropbox) to the ringtone folder.

can't see the folders.  where are they?  Check the app's help pages... all apps are sandboxed / can't see the system folders?

I used a windows file manager program a while ago. Guess that's the way?

I'm afraid using itunes 'cause rather than just add the file, it wants to synch and things get broken.

Oh yeah jailbreak certainly not on the list of options :-)

Thanks please let me know if you find anything. It looks like something that a non-techie can't do from their phone. Or even anybody from only their phone. Looks like you need it iTunes or some app running on the PC to put it in the right folder on the phone
Short answer .. you either need to have the iphone linked to iTunes or an app like Waltr2 - https://softorino.com/w2
