help with hijackthis log?

Hi- My mouse is flickering, and I've had an ongoing problem with my laptop running at high usage(up to 100% CPU usage with only firefox open).

I have Avast anti-virus free, latest scan found nothing. I downloaded and ran Malwarebytes, and I got a couple of problems resolved there.). I found an article that suggested running hijackthis and looking for BPOs.

I am not sure what to do from here, could someone look at the log and let me know my best options? Also, any other suggestions on loking for running viruses would be welcome. Thanks.

ASKER

I've done both. The only extension I am running is Firebug, and if I look at processes, usually it's Firefox at 40% or so, and then System Idel process for the rest.

Ok, I've got two entries labelled NASTY:

       O20 - AppInit_DLLs: C:\PROGRA~2\Google\GOOGLE~1\GO36F4~1.DLL

MSIE: Internet Explorer v11.0 (11.00.9600.18538)

What do I do?
Oh, and thanks for other advice, I'll attempt that later when I have a bit more time.
Never mind, I did fix this and that file's gone, and I'm updating IE (Which I never use, hate the damn thing).
Oh, one other thing, I do have a firewall activated, windows firewall. And Windows Defender is disabled already..

AppInit_DLLs: C:\PROGRA~2\Google\GOOGLE~1\GO36F4~1.DLL
GO36F4~1.DLL is part of Google Desktop App, uninstall it.
Ok- Uninstall Firefox. check
Uninstall Avast Antivirus. check
Uninstall Malwarebytes. check

Reinstall Avast Antivirus. check

What I will do now is leave Firefox uninstalled for a few days, and see if I run into the same problem. It's not constant, but intermittent, so I'll know within a couple of days if leaving Firefox uninstalled fixes the issue.
Thanks, everyone, I have been running without firefox, and have had no recurrence of the issue. Firefox is out!
