Hello EE, I can't quite put a term\name to it but have you seen when you go to certain websites and it will have you click a button to run through a sort of checklist to ensure your browser will function properly for the website and then offer the fixes needed like maybe enabling pop-ups, Java version, etc.

What is this and how do I go about getting it for a website we use?

https://validator.w3.org/ gives you a couple of options for checking HTML validity on a page.

Sorry, that doesn't check for browser compatibility, just HTML validity.

Generally you use javascript to find out the browser version.

For example

alert(navigator.userAgent);

taken from http://sixrevisions.com/javascript/browser-detection-javascript/

Use Google search "javascript browser check" and you'll get lots of liniks.
