Hello everyone,

im currently having a printing issue but only on one computer. We have a local computer accessing Citrix servers and when anyone logs onto the computer it will only print in Portrait. some reports are meant to come out landscape.
our environment:
 - 2 Citrix servers 2012R2 load balanced 4.4
 - windows 7 desktop
 - domain
 - HP laser jet 400 network printer from Print Server

Tests ive already tired:
 - Logging on as different users to the local machine and citrix  (printing is portrait for all users)
 - Logging on to Citrix with the users having the issue to other computers (printing works normally)
 - adding a different printers to the local computer (All printers print in portrait)
 - logged the users onto both citrix servers (one server prints normally the other only prints in portrait)
 - reloaded the correct driver onto the local computer
 - checked printing options for printing directly to the printer
 - Checked printing options for landscape and portrait

Laserjet 400? How old is that Printer? I was an HP tech back in the day and it sounds familiar.

Have you gone to Printer Properties on the PC and see what its set to? Once you are in properties, on the General Tab, Select preferences, then local settings, see what the factory default is set to. Or what I would do in this case is remove the printer and reinstall it from the print server again.

you use Device specific driver or universal on. we had some similar problems,
we use universal driver

edward - we the printer works fine on every computer except one ive tested other printers also HP's and they do the exact same thing. Ive also checked the properties for the printer. We normally dont sent them up any different.

Tom - We use universal drivers normally but i installed the specific driver today just to make sure and it was already installed.
on a side note i just found out that the citrix receiver was updated to 4.6 and ive heard that has had some issues so with printing. Im going to roll it back and see if that resolves anything.

@Tom that's all we use here are the universal drivers for the printers.

yes i've tried uninstalling and re-installing. the printer works when added to other computers and other printers work but when add to this desktop they print incorrectly.

Well what I would do is go to print management and remove the printer and the drivers from there. Lets start clean. Once removed reboot log back in and reinstall it from the server.

I am glad you got it working. I was not aware that you had 2 different receivers on the machines. In one of your comments you said all your machines were 4.4. Even though this is resolved I would still see why 4.6 would not work.

- Edward I meant to say i Was not aware that the receiver was updated to 4.6. however i did a lot of research and before i even knew this computer had an issue I found that 4.6 is notorious for having printing problems. they have already rolled out 4.7 and im assuming thats because 4.6 has some bugs.
