asked on

Outlook 2016 unable to open another user's Shared Folder.

Hello,

User 1 has created an additional calendar on his mailbox and has granted permissions to all staff.  We are connected to a hosted Office 365 server.

Everyone is able to access it except for one person, User 2.  When User 2 tries to open the shared calendar using Outlook client, she receives the following error:

Microsoft Outlook
We can't complete this because we can't contact the server right now.  Please try again.

I was able to open the calendar using OWA.  I've tried setting up Outlook in cached & also in online mode, both with the same results.  I've also tried creating a new profile with the same results.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Hi,
I have read that you are unable to open another user's shared folder . This problem basically occurs due to the following condition:-
1. If you have Outlook 2013 configured to use a MAPI over HTTP connection.
2. Your primary mailbox is in cached mode.
3. Or the Download shared folder option is disabled.

As you have told you have tried setting up Outlook in cached & in online mode also, you can check for the third option.

If you need more help you can refer to this link:
