RDS on 2012 R2 and Term Server on 2008 and a licensing question

We have a 2008 server named TSCAL.  It was and is out licensing server for our current users.

I've just added a server 2012 R2 server and published one app to that server.

I'm having trouble "pointing" that new 2012 R2 server to our existing TSCAL server for licensing.  I've done some googleing and I'm not sure it's even doable.

Can someone tell me if I can point my 2012 R@ RDS server to my server 2008 TSCAL server?

Thanks

Your license server MUST be equal to or greater than the version of RDS you want to use.  You also need RDS CALs that are Equal to or greater than the version you want to use.

So, I need to move my existing licenses to my new licensing server.  OR, if I'm reading you right, I'll need new CALs too!  Right?

If you want to use RDS 2012 R2, you need an RDS 2012 License Server (or later) and you need RDS CALs for 2012 or later.  Your existing CALs are only valid to connect to 2008 R2 and earlier.
