Hi experts! Simple question, is MS Visual Studio required to run MS SQL Server 2008? ie are there any common files shared?
Scenario: I have MS Visual Studio ("tools for application", and "2008 Shell (integrated mode)") running on a server that runs SQL Server 2008 which has about 20 live productions databases. My system drive is close to full and removing VisStudio would free up significant space. But as I've inherited this setup and am new to it I want to proceed with caution.
Thanks
I'll backup then try a remove of VS and likely (hopefully) no harm to SQL Server. It also means no more maintaining apps that connect to databases the run in SQL server which will work for me.
Thanks again for your time.
