There was a problem sending the command to the program Error

Good Afternoon,

I have a user that is using MS Office 2010 on windows 7 Workstation. Currently when trying to open Word or Excel from time to time they get an error message that reads "There was a problem sending the command to the program".
So far I have check to see if (Ignore other applications that use Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE)) was unchecked located under (File/Options -> Advanced ->  General ->) but it was already unchecked. I do notice that there are plugins being loaded when launching Excel or Word. Do you think this could be a problem?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.
