Recovering ASA 5505 vpn config from flash card?

A Cisco ASA 5505 on a remote site broke down. It will not power on anymore. It was used to remotely access some PCs on that site.
Our vendor will send us a replacement.
I'm not familiar with exactly how the connection was configured but I imagine it was probably password protected.

If I swap in the flash card to the new ASA, will it all work or do the passwords need to be re-configured?
What if I copy the config to a PC using a CF card reader and then copy from there to the new ASA?

You can swap it

configs's are saved in local nvram. not on the flashcard. by replacing the flashcard with the original ios.
the asa will boot. and be able to load it's config

So you're saying the config is not stored on the flash chard..what good would swapping the cards do then? I am trying to get the config of the broken ASA onto the new one.
Your help has saved me hundreds of hours of internet surfing.

Got the SD card reader and yes the startup-config was accessible.
If I copy this to another ASA 5505 via the CLI would it work even though there are encrypted passwords?
Pete Long

Yes :) the encrypted passwords will copy across :)
