Thanks, but the barcode scanners doesn't have power button or switch. They are not office employees but plant workers with workstations in the production line, they are constantly scanning barcode (approximately every 3 minutes). I have tried with that kind of cellphone chargers but no one works for that (700 mA, 1A, 2A) only charges connected to the workstation.<br />

In this situation I feel it would be prudent to look for different scanners that are better suited to the application, rather than trying to put a patch on something that does not seem to be suited for this particular situation.

I've discovered that the cradle has an input for power charger but they doesn´t comes with it, it has to be purchased separately and I have already ordered. Thanks everyone for your help.

I have purchased 2 Honeywell barcode scans Granit model in which their battery only charges with USB cable; since this is a factory with production lines, that represents an issue because when the workers turn off their computers at 22.40, the scanner loses power and when their start shift at 5.00 the scanner battery is dead.<br />

I have seen USB ports with a little thunder drawing in the case but this optiplex doesn't came with that ports (only 2.0 and SS)<br />

is there a way to &quot;open power flow&quot; to USB ports so they can charge when the computer is off?<br />
